Dr. Fred Vernacchia founded San Luis Diagnostic Center in 1994 with the commitment of providing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and techniques to San Luis
Obispo County. Since it's opening in 1994, San Luis Diagnostic Center has been a pioneer in offering leading edge diagnostic technology and services.
San Luis Diagnostic Center's radiologists offer a wide range of expertise in diagnostic radiology. All of our radiologists are
Diplomates of the American Board of Radiology.
This means that after obtaining their Medical Degree, all of our physicians have completed a 3-4 year residency specializing in Diagnostic Imaging. In addition,
many of our radiologists have specialty training in Women's Imaging, Body CT, Ultrasound, Neuroradiology, Breast Imaging (Mammography, ultrasound and stereotactic
breast biopsy) and interventional radiology.
All of our staff radiologists have all attended major universities, including Stanford, UC San Francisco, UC Irvine, Loma Linda University, Pennsylvania State
University, Rush Medical College, University of Illinois, and University of Michigan. Many of the San Luis Diagnostic Center physicians have lectured at major medical
conferences, including the Radiology Society of North America and the International Society of Bone Densitometry. They have also traveled to countries as far
away as China and Taiwan to lecture and educate other physicians on Digital Mammography and Stereotactic Breast Biopsy. Our radiologists also work as consultants
to imaging companies to help develop products to better diagnose disease.
